Moby in Concert at WFAS
When: Saturday, September 25, 2010
SOLD OUT!! Please join our eNewsletter list to learn about future events!
As part of our Acoustic Summer Concert Series we’ve had Chrissie Hynde with her band JP, Chrissie and the Fairground Boys, Sean Lennon and Charlotte Kemp Muhl as The Ghost of a Saber Tooth Tiger, and now pop icon and champion of animal rights Moby will be performing an acoustic set live here at the farm! We couldn’t be more stoked if we tried! Visit Moby’s website here.
Opening for Moby will be his frequent female vocalist and award-winning film composer Kelli Scarr, who is now a solo artist in her own right. She and the amazing Inyang Bassey will be performing alongside Moby.
Also playing will be Mercury Rev Clear Light Ensemble, featuring members of Mercury Rev performing a live soundscape to Albert Lamorisse’s beloved 1956 classic “The Red Balloon” (this will be after Moby performs, with Moby sitting in). Groovy, man.
The concert will be held on an open lawn at the Sanctuary, please bring your own lawn chairs or reasonably-sized blanket, and a flashlight is recommended. Need directions?
Unlike previous shows, delish food will be for sale so come hungry!
Local independent station WDST Radio Woodstock 100.1 is proud to support this show as a media sponsor.
Doors open at 4:45, show starts at 5:30pm sharp and will end around dusk. Need directions? Grilled FIELD ROAST veggie sausages and other food and drinks will be available, and members of the Woodstock Sanctuary get $5 off their first purchase (please bring your membership card). Parking can be tight so we encourage you to carpool with a pal.
This is a rain-or-shine event. TICKETS ARE NON-REFUNDABLE. If rain is predicted we’ll have a tent available to keep you dry — however you should channel your inner boy scout and Be Prepared for whatever the Catskills might want to send our way. In the unlikely event of extreme weather where a tent would not be safe, the show may have to be canceled and your ticket would be converted into a year’s membership to the farm.
Children under 12 are permitted for free, HOWEVER we would not describe this event as particularly interesting to or appropriate for your average kid. If the young one(s) cause any disruption to the concert we will unfortunately have to ask the adult accompanying them to take them home, as we just want to respect the performers and want to protect the musical experience for all the others in attendance.
