Sheila Hyslop 1964-2014
We are deeply saddened to announce that Sheila Hyslop, former Shelter Manager at Woodstock Farm Animal Sanctuary, died in March from injuries related to a bike accident. She was in her native land of Edinburgh, Scotland, at the time.
Sheila touched so many lives – both human and animal – in her almost 10 years of volunteering and working with us at the sanctuary. Her compassion, humor, kindness and selflessness won the hearts of all who met her. She’s been an integral part of the sanctuary from the very beginning and one of the hardest-working, most dedicated people we’ve ever known.
Those who visited or volunteered at the Sanctuary will remember her intense dedication to the animals and her encyclopedic recollection of every detail pertaining to their rescue stories and health, all the while being a cheerful and charming presence both on and off the farm. Her exceptional kindness was universal to both human and non-human animals.
A memorial was held in Scotland, and plans are underway to hold one on this side of the pond. Please contact us for updates.
