July Jamboree ’14: Raging Success

See a larger slideshow here

Picture-perfect weather. Sublime food trucks. Fantastic music and cooking demos. Kids’ activities. And 300+ rescued farm animals who ate up the attention.

This all came together on July 5th for our most successful Jamboree ever, with a record-breaking 1500 people attending and over $25,000 raised!  Proceeds from this event went directly to the charitable work of Woodstock Farm Animal Sanctuary. Thanks to everyone who came, donated and volunteered! It was amazing!!!

Our food, drink and ingredient donors are the BEST!

Our Food Vendors:

The Cinnamon Snail vegan food truck is rated the #1 restaurant in NYC so we were especially stoked to steal them away from NYC for the day to serve their sophisticated and insanely delicious take on street food and desserts.

Equally unique and über-popular was Like No Udder — the world’s first all-vegan soft serve ice cream truck, who came all the way from Rhode Island. Their ice cream not only tastes like traditional ice cream, IT’S BETTER!

More local but no less legendary is Aba’s Falafel, who serves, we dare say, the BEST falafel sandwiches in the entire northeast! Their popular, all-vegan food stand is the darling of farm festivals all over the Hudson Valley.

Plus a variety of grilled and freshly-prepared prepared foods by friend, chef and restaurateur David Silver.

Vegan Treats donated hundreds of fresh baked cookies and Sweet Maressa’s provided us with yummy macarons!

And a great cooking demonstration by Terry Hope Romero, author and co-author of bestselling cookbooks Veganomicon: The Ultimate Vegan CookbookVegan Cupcakes Take Over the World, and her newest, Salad Samuri.

Our Entertainers:

NYC indie music veterans Bree Sharp and Don DiLego of Beautiful Small Machines

Elizabeth Mitchell with her family band You Are My Flower

Ray Ippolito, Josh Kutchai, Brian Prokop of the appropriately-named trio Meanderthal,

Ukelele artists and singers Derek Goodwin and Siewli Stark.

Brain Yarnish and Candice of Scrapkins, who provided fun, recycled art-making with the kids!
