Closing until May

Friday, March 13, 2020

For the safety of the 400 rescued farmed animal residents at Woodstock Farm Sanctuary and our hardworking staff — and continuing to be mindful of public health for all — we will not be opening for the visiting season in April, as we usually do every year. We are taking proactive steps to be prepared in all directions with the current events at hand, but we expect to open our barn doors May 3rd, 2020 for Members Only Day and May 9th officially to the public.

We wanted to let our wonderful supporters like you know first. As the most visited animal sanctuary in the United States, we’ve anticipated 15,000 visitors this year and know we will still see so many faces once we re-open for the season. We know that residents like Jo the cow and Tuesday the goat can’t wait to see you, and we can’t wait for you to see the newly-improved Sanctuary Store that’s stocked with exciting, new merchandise. (If you’d like to see some of that merchandise now, click here.)

We hope you and your loved ones stay safe and healthy, and we hope you consider putting a visit to Woodstock Sanctuary in your upcoming plans this spring and summer. While the weekend tours are postponed, our onsite inn The Gray Barn remains open, and our volunteer and intern programs remain active. We just ask that if you want to volunteer or stay with us, please follow our safety guidelines listed on each of these pages.

We are losing a month of expected revenue by closing and any support is appreciated right now. If you’d like to give a gift towards our work and animal care, click here. Thank you for understanding this delay and thank you for continuing to be there for us — we can’t wait to see you this year.
