Visitor Center Cashier – Part-time, Seasonal

Woodstock Farm Sanctuary is seeking a part-time weekend Visitor’s Center Cashier.

Start Date: 4/1/17

End Date: 10/29/17

 

 

Pay Rate: $13/hour

Schedule*: Saturdays and Sundays

9:30AM to 5:00PM

Hours per week:  15

 

 

General Job Description

 

  • Open building, conduct light cleaning on interior and exterior of building
  • Balance cash drawer
  • Run Start-Up procedures on POS equipment (iPad, printer, etc.)
  • Welcome visitors and receive payment for goods
  • Answer questions about hours of operation, tour times and merchandise
  • Recommend WFS memberships and sponsorships and assist with registrations
  • Keep merchandise tidy and fully stocked
  • Check on cleanliness of bathrooms and on stock of toilet paper and paper towels
  • Check on cleanliness of side rooms (café, kids’ room, multi-purpose room)
  • Utilize intern to assist with above tasks as needed
  • Prove cash drawer, print cash balance report and assist with daily “cash drop”
  • Run End of Day procedures on POS equipment

 

 

 

Requirements

  • Strong customer service skills
  • Retail and cashier experience
  • Able to work all weekends April through October
  • Flexibility with hours (events such as our June Jamboree will require extended hours)
  • Basic computer skills
  • Reliable transportation
  • Knowledge of and commitment to the Woodstock Sanctuary mission, or the willingness to learn more about the mission quickly

The Visitor’s Center Cashier will work at Woodstock Farm Sanctuary’s new site in High Falls, New York, 90 minutes from NYC in the beautiful Hudson Valley region.  This is a part-time, non-exempt position that reports to the Office Manager.
