Henna shortly after her arrival at WFAS

Henna was seen running around Queens, close to a live kill market. She was running through the neighborhood with no feathers — evidence that she’d been kept in the small cages common in egg-laying operations.

A woman named Nikki took pity and got some friends to help catch Henna, and she nursed the skinny little bird back to health enough for feathers to grow back… and then Nikki reached out to us when she had to leave to go on vacation and could no longer care for little Henna.
