MartinBased on Martin’s age and breed, he was likely being raised for slaughter for Thanksgiving dinner — until he somehow escaped. Martin was found wandering in a nearby town—alone, scared, and very thin. He must have been without a home or food for weeks. Because of his brown coloring, people had mistaken him for a wild-born turkey and he wouldn’t have survived much longer on his own. But luckily, a kind person saw that he was frightened and vulnerable to hunters and predators, so she called Woodstock Sanctuary.Martin is now safe with us and enjoying the comfort and bonds of his flock. He is quite the charmer and loves to show off to his many human visitors!
