Sophie and Slick

Sophie and Slick were rescued in 2015 from a factory farm at just three months old. Like their brothers and sisters in the food industry, their toes have been cut off at the joint and they have been cruelly de-beaked, all without anesthetic. Luckily, they are no longer bound to be one of the 46 million turkeys slaughtered every year for Thanksgiving.

Now, Sophie and Sick have joined our other rescued turkeys and will get to live out their lives in peace at Woodstock Farm Sanctuary.

Since their arrival, these shy turkeys have really broken out of their shells and love exploring their new surroundings, making friends with our matriarch turkeys like Beatrice and Marley, and pecking happily at the grass beneath their feet!
