Don't adjust your monitor! Yep - that's Chrissie Hynde (of The Pretenders) hanging out with some of our goats last weekend.
This was just before she hit the stage for a sold-out benefit show for WFAS. She performed as part of her new creative project, JP, Chrissie and the Fairground Boys. How cool is that?! This concert was only the first of a summer concert benefit series at and for WFAS.

UN urges global move to meat and dairy-free diet
UN report says less consumption of animal products is necessary to save the world from the worst impacts of climate change.
"Agriculture, particularly meat and dairy products, accounts for 70% of global freshwater consumption, 38% of the total land use and 19% of the world's greenhouse gas emissions, says the report, which has been launched to coincide with UN World Environment day on Saturday."

Rescued piglet siblings find loving home together forever!
Remember the "Valentine Piglets" who arrived on Valentine's Day of 2009 at WFAS? We are THRILLED to announce that they have been adopted by an incredible couple who are head over heels in love with their new pig children.
George and Nancy wanted to help WFAS by adopting, thus opening space for us to take in more animals in need. When they learned that we've never had much interest in pig adoptions, they stepped up to the plate and said they would take not just one, but all four piggy siblings (since we would never dream of separating them).
The piggies are now living happily just an hour away from WFAS where they are spoiled to death, dining on fresh fruits and veggies and all the love they can handle. Thank you George & Nancy! |

At the heart of WFAS's mission is the hands-on work of rescuing,
rehabilitating and caring for farm animal refugees - as well as
educating the public about the horrific treatment of animals in modern-day animal agriculture and the many benefits of a plant-based diet. Thank you so much for your support!
