Oohmahnee Passes the Torch Friday, March 04, 2005 A MESSAGE TO OOHMAHNEE FARM SUPPORTERS Our dear friends at Oohmahnee Farm in Pennsylvania are closing their doors after a decade of rescuing and providing shelter for thousands of farm animals in need. It is a great sadness to see them go but the legacy of their incredible work lives on in many ways. Many animal and human lives alike have been profoundly effected by Oohmahnee’s compassion and education and now, through their generosity, WFAS will help carry the torch. Oomahnee donated three sheds, saving us about $8000 in construction costs. This one is now used to house chickens from our recent Brooklyn chicken rescue. Oohmahnee Farm has chosen WFAS as the recipient of the contents of their state-of-the-art education center, medical infirmary and transportable farming equipment items such as a tractor and three Amish-built sheds! All this and a variety of other useful and valuable farming and medical supplies. With our new barn we are also the new home to many of their beloved and personable goats and sheep. PLEASE HELP US BY MAKING A MUCH-NEEDED DONATION TODAY. ANY AMOUNT HELPS! And, if you previously sponsored an animal at Oohmahnee, please consider sponsoring the same animal or another worthy critter here at WFAS!
