Become a Hayraiser! Monday, November 27, 2017With frost on the ground and a chill in the air, it’s starting to feel like winter at Woodstock Farm Sanctuary. The animals are growing their winter coats and our caregivers bundle up in winter coats and heavy boots before caring for the animals every morning. Most notably, the cows are going through hay very quickly.Since they can’t graze on grass like they do in the summer, our larger animals eat a lot more hay during winter months. So we really need your help again this year to give the animals hay every day and quality care this winter. You gave the animals hay last year, can you help again? We’re hoping you will be a “hayraiser” once more. And if 45 of our supporters donate or raise two days of hay, animals like cheeky Stevie and sweet Pia and Zia can stay warm and full in the long, cold winter ahead. Helping is easier than ever. Just go to our hay drive page and choose how many days you’d like to feed the animals for. And with Giving Tuesday in just two days, now is the perfect time to share with your family and friends! We go through 35 bales of hay each day. So at $5.50 per bale, we need to raise $17,130 this winter. As a thank you, we’ll send you pictures of animals eating on the day that you sponsored their hay! This means so much to them…and to me and all the caregiving staff.Thank you once again for being there for our cows, goats, sheep, and rescued horses this winter.
