Elvis Perkins and Tracy Bonham Benefit

Jan 1

Elvis/Tracy Show

As part of our Summer Concert Series we’ve hosted Chrissie Hynde with her band JP, Chrissie and the Fairground Boys, Sean Lennon and Charlotte Kemp Muhl as The Ghost of a Saber Tooth Tiger,  and pop icon and champion of animal rights Moby.

Now Elvis Perkins and Tracy Bonham, both acclaimed Hudson Valley-based singer/songwriters, will take a break from their respective busy tour schedules to perform at the gorgeous Helsinki Hudson in Hudson, NY, for a concert to benefit Woodstock Farm Animal Sanctuary. The show continues a Summer Concert Series, co-produced by Jason Fine, Executive Editor of Rolling Stone Magazine.

Folk rocker Elvis Perkins crafts brooding, thoughtful melodies with a sophisticated pop sensibility (see video below). His songs sound both catchy and timeless, earning lofty comparisons to the likes of Leonard Cohen and Bob Dylan. Known for a wide range of dynamics and eclectic instrumentation, his recordings and live shows have become the darling of bloggers and top-ten lists.

Tracy Bonham is a twice Grammy-nominated powerhouse.  Billboard called her latest album, Masts of Manhatta (Engine Room Recordings), “full of attractive instrumentation and unfalteringly charming lyricism.”  From the instruments she plays (violin, guitar, piano) to the genres she explores (folk, blues, country, classical, tango), Tracy exudes talent, as you can see on the video at the bottom.

WKZEProceeds from the concert will go directly to the charitable work of Woodstock Farm Animal Sanctuary and the care of over 200 formerly abused, abandoned and discarded farm animals.

General admission tickets are $25 at the door.

Local independent station 98.1 KZE is proud to support this show as  a media supporter.

Doors open at 6pm, show starts at 9pm sharp. Helsinki Hudson is at 405 Columbia Street, Hudson NY.
