Woodstock Farm Sanctuary envisions a peaceful world rooted in respect and justice for all living beings. We rescue farmed animals and give them care and sanctuary, connect animals with people to advance veganism, and advocate for animal rights in alliance with other social justice movements.
At the heart of our mission is the hands-on work of rescuing, rehabilitating and caring for farmed animals, advocating for animal rights, and educating the public about these issues. We host thousands of visitors every year through our event, tour, and volunteer programs.
Located in New York state’s Hudson Valley region 90 minutes from New York City, the area boasts a rich cultural and artistic heritage, offering a rare mix of rural and cosmopolitan resources.

Job Overview:
The Marketing Department is looking for its next savvy and creative Social Media Coordinator to join the team! The Social Media Coordinator will report to the Marketing and Communications Director while working closely with the Development team and collaboratively with other staff across departments. This position supports all aspects of marketing and Sanctuary communications. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic about content creation, increasing engagement and support on social media, and sharing Woodstock Sanctuary’s mission, vision, and ongoing advocacy. This is a non-exempt, full-time, year-round, on-site position reporting to the Marketing Director.

Key Responsibilities Include:
-Creating, photographing, and recording text, image, and video content that is on-brand, engaging, and aligns with the organization’s mission
-Managing 10+ different social media channels and their daily and/or weekly upkeep
-Helping moderate and monitor conversations on all accounts in a timely manner
-Researching algorithm changes, digital marketing trends, and keeping up with current events that can be relevant to content creation
-Creating interesting, refreshing copy to content that is advocacy-driven and strengthens retention on user engagement and donor interest
-Defining and monitoring social media KPIs per channel
-Organizing all data and statistical information across digital outreach roadmap
-Assisting the Marketing and Development Assistant with building monthly newsletters and merchandise emails
-Working closely with the Marketing and Communications Director to connect and collaborate with like-minded organizations, brands, and businesses that can accelerate Woodstock Sanctuary’s presence, mission, and fundraising
-Working closely with the Marketing and Communications Director to develop and maintain a strong social media and calendar plan
-Connecting with and learning about the 380 rescued farmed animals that call Woodstock Sanctuary home

Qualifications and skills:
• Two+ years of experience in marketing and social media required. Non-profit marketing a plus
• Knowledge and proficiency with social media platforms required
• General photography and video skills required
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite
• Knowledge of Adobe Creative suite a plus
• Ability to think creatively and work quickly
• Excellent verbal, writing, proofreading and editing skills
• Flexibility and openness to a multitude of tasks
• Knowledge of Squarespace a plus
• Flexible schedule with ability to work some evenings and weekends
• Commitment to veganism and Woodstock Farm Sanctuary’s mission and goals
• Willingness to participate in occasional travel
• High comfort level with large animals
