CassidyCassidy came to us in September 2009 from an illegal Brooklyn slaughterhouse. His crooked beak, a result from malnutrition as a baby, resulted in him becoming one of our permanent “special needs” Woodstock Farm Animal Sanctuary residents. His beak makes it difficult for him to eat regularly, so Cassidy has learned in his own way.

At first he lived with his white bird girls, who would always beat him to the food bowl. Noticing this, we separated him when he ate so he had more time, feeding him a nutrient dense and healthful mash. He now lives happily with the ducks and can enjoy leisurely meals with a view of the pond.
