Dolly Dolly the Llama. Photo credit: Derek Pashupa Goodwin Dolly came from a neglect situation where she was penned, along with some other animals, in a small concrete enclosure set up as a family’s private “petting zoo.” The family owned many acres of land, but all that Dolly had access to was a tiny pen. When our sanctuary staff learned about the situation, they knew that Dolly would be a great companion for our many sheep at the sanctuary. Llamas are natural protectors, and Dolly keeps a close eye on her sheep friends and warns if any predators are around. She is curious and loves to give big kisses and come right up to visitors for a closer look! Because she’s so friendly, she’s become a great animal ambassador for the sanctuary and a great “big sister” to her sheep companions. Sponsor Dolly!
