Amelia was found as a piglet wandering around on her own, where she was brought to an animal shelter in upstate New York. In August of 2012, she found her forever home at Woodstock Farm Sanctuary. In October 2018, Amelia was eight years old when she was diagnosed with a mass on her ovaries and uterus. She needed surgery, which was a risk for a pig her age. Thankfully the surgery went well, and with the love and care of the Sanctuary’s shelter team (and all of her supporters) Amelia made a full recovery! Now you can find Amelia enjoying life in the senior pig barn — a brand new barn built for Amelia and her friends in 2019. Amelia has a heart of gold and her sweet, kind eyes make her hard to forget.
