Send a Father’s Day e-Card

Wednesday, June 15, 2016

Is there a father figure in your life who was always there for you? A dad, an uncle, maybe a big brother, or a friend? The role of a dad is a special one.

Sadly, farmed animal fathers are usually never allowed to be with their families. They are isolated and used for breeding purposes. Then they are killed when no longer useful.

Here at Woodstock Farm Sanctuary, when we’ve been able to rescue fathers with their babies, they’ve been just as protective and amazing with their children as mothers. Like Jack the goat. He was being kept as a breeder in a slaughterhouse in Brooklyn until he was rescued along with his partner Joy and their son Joey. He and Joy kept close to Joey for the remainder of their lives…becoming a tight little family unit. Joy passed away last year and Jack followed soon after. Joey was sad and missed his parents but has since become close with Emmett. They have now really bonded.

2016Father'sDay-single-cardWe see animals stepping up and being father figures here when new residents arrive. Andy the pig always shows new younger pigs around and makes sure they get along with the bigger pig group. Bert the goat does the same with new sheep!

With your gift in honor of your father, father-figure, or a father of any species, you honor all the animals we care for here at the Sanctuary. And you honor and mourn for the fathers who cannot stay with their families.

And in thanks, we will send an e-card of your choice featuring some of our most popular animals to your gift recipient! (Please be sure to read and follow the directions).

Happy Father’s Day to you and all who you love.

For the animals,

Your Friends at Woodstock Farm Sanctuary
