Join us Sunday, May 29th from 11 – 4 to celebrate vegan wellness and community:

Vegan food and treats, books, beauty products and kombucha from over a dozen vendors, fun presentations and demos, and drop-in yoga classes all day!

  • 2015-04-06-Kombucha-10Author and activist Jasmin Singer, executive director of Our Hen House, will present stories from her recent memoir and sign copies of the book.
  • Vegan fermentation demo with Jessica Childs, co-founder of Kombucha Brooklyn and author of Fermentation and Home Brewing. Jessica will be presenting some fermentation methods and signing copies of her latest book!
  • Vegan cheese “whiz” Rachel Klein of Miss Rachel’s Pantry in Philadelphia will demonstrate some methods for making delicious, artisanal vegan cheeses that stand alone!
  • Derek_Goodwin_20150823-WFAS_Farm_Yoga-3428Drop-in yoga classes with Ashtanga Yoga teacher Maury Jackson of Community Yoga will be taking place throughout the day! Bring your yoga mat to participate!
  • Jiva Jam yoga class – Animal Mukti: an exploration of animal poses with Derek Pashupa Goodwin.

Jasmin Singer

Jasmin Singer is the author of the memoir, Always Too Much and Never Enough (Penguin Random House Berkley; 2016), which documents her journey to find herself through juicing, veganism, and love, as she went from fat to thin and from feeding her emotions to feeding her soul. Jasmin was named a 2016 “40 Under 40” by The Advocate Magazine and a 2015 “Eco-Preneur” by Go Magazine. The Our Hen House podcast – which Jasmin co-hosts – has been honored twice by the coveted Webby Awards.

In addition to co-hosting Our Hen House, now in its seventh year, Jasmin is the host of the Teaching Jasmin How to Cook Vegan Podcast, can be seen in the award-winning documentaries Vegucated and The Ghosts In Our Machine, and has also appeared on the Dr. Oz Show and HuffPo Live. She has contributed to several anthologies (including Defiant Daughters, Running Eating Thinking, and Circles of Compassion), and is a contributing writer for VegNews Magazine. When she’s not traveling around giving book talks or presenting workshops on veganism and activism, Jasmin spends her downtime at home in New York City. Maury Jackson, Community Yoga

Maury Jackson is a certified Ashtanga Yoga teacher with 16 years of teaching experience.

Maury teaches open-level yoga that is accessible to novices and practitioners alike. “My goal with community yoga is to take it to the masses and make it reachable to all.”


Pashupa Goodwin

Derek Pashupa Goodwin
 is a Jivamukti Yoga teacher who completed his training in 2011. He has been living in NYC and working at the Jivamukti Yoga Center in Union Square as website editor since 2012. His is loved for his unique playlists, solid sequences, and Thai massage inspired assists. He is the organizer of Jiva Jam! He is know for his photography of farm animals and yogis.
