  • 2 Rescue Road, High Falls NY 12440

  • Yes. Visitors to the Sanctuary must be part of a scheduled tour, and we ask that you purchase tickets in advance. Our public visiting season runs from May to mid-November, and other special events and private tours take place throughout the year. See the tickets and tours page for your options.

We do not allow visitors to wander the Sanctuary grounds alone for the safety and comfort of our animal residents and staff.

  • For the 2024 public tour season, adult tickets are $20. Tickets for kids under 12 are $15. Kids under 3 get in for free. Special event ticket prices vary.

Ticket proceeds directly support the nonprofit and the rescued animals who live here.

  • They are about 90 minutes long. There are shaded benches and areas for breaks if necessary, with free water and access to bathrooms available at our Sanctuary Store.

  • During your visit you will meet and interact with a variety of farmed animal species including goats, chickens, pigs, and cows. We’ll tell you their stories, including where they came from, how they were rescued, and who they have become since. Woodstock Sanctuary has a strong educational mission and during the tours, we are honest and transparent about the realities of modern animal agriculture.

  • Every Saturday, our first tour at 10 AM is encouraged to be taken by families with younger children. The tour is as honest, engaging, and involved as the other tours on the schedule, however the language used has been written with younger ears in mind. For any questions about our tours please email visit@woodstocksanctuary.org.

  • We welcome visitors who use mobility aids, but the regular tour route is not 100% accessible. When deciding to visit, keep in mind that the Sanctuary roads are all dirt, and can be muddy depending on the weather.

Typical tours enter animal pastures at times, which can be bumpy or covered in tall grasses, and may not accessible. However, we can take a wheelchair-friendly route if we know your needs in advance, which won't enter animal pastures but will still allow you to meet a lot of residents from the other side of the fence. You can specify your needs via the ticket form when you are booking your visit, and feel free to reach out with any questions.

Please note that we are not able to provide mobility aids to visitors.

  • Outside snacks are not allowed to be given to the farmed animal residents during the tour. Some of the residents you will meet can have a snack provided by the tour leader and will be distributed during the tour.

  • For the safety of the rescued animal residents, dogs and other companion animals are not allowed on Sanctuary grounds. Registered service animals are the only exception to this rule.

Registered service animals must be kept on-leash and in the control of their handler at all times, and must stick to main roads. They are prohibited from entering animal enclosures or approaching our animal residents. We reserve the right to ask even registered animals be removed from the property if they are being aggressive towards our rescued residents, other guests, or Sanctuary staff.

  • Per NYS law you may not leave your dog in your vehicle and this includes with engine on and the A/C running because in NYS it is also illegal to leave an unattended car’s engine running.

  • Our Volunteer Program is a great way to visit during weekdays, as it operates Wednesday-Sundays, however our public tours are scheduled on Saturdays only. Private tours are an option for weekday visiting. We occasionally have special events outside of regular tour times. Make sure you sign up for our newsletter to get the latest information on upcoming events.
