OUR HISTORY

Woodstock Farm Sanctuary was founded by Jenny Brown and Doug Abel in 2004 outside of Woodstock, New York. In 2015 the organization moved to a 150 acre property nestled in the beautiful hills of High Falls, New York, about 90 minutes north of New York City.

In its 18 years of animal rescue and advocacy work, the Sanctuary has saved thousands of animals’ lives. With annual events, public weekend tours, and their award-winning on-site inn The Gray Barn, Woodstock Farm Sanctuary has welcomed thousands of visitors from all over the country to visit, stay, and fall in love with farmed animals.

The Sanctuary has grown to become one of the most recognized and well-respected animal sanctuaries in the world, continuing to advocate for animal rights in alliance with other social justice movements. Woodstock Farm Sanctuary currently provides daily care and medical support to nearly 400 rescued residents including ducks, chickens, geese, cows, pigs, sheep, goats, and turkeys.
