Preparing for Winter at The Sanctuary

Winter has arrived

We need your help to prepare for the cold months ahead.

As temperatures drop below freezing this week our team is working to insulate some of the coops + rabbit barn, and stock up on enough hay to last the next two months. The insulation and cost of two months of hay for over 360 animals is expensive. We need your help now to cover the costs.

Please help us keep everyone safe and warm this winter!

Winter preparations have been in the plans for weeks, but with temperatures dropping below freezing this week, we need to act now to ensure the animals are prepared for the cold months ahead!

Winter preparations at the Sanctuary are not cheap but they are vital to the health of the animals in our care.

Woodstock Sanctuary is home to over 360 rescued animals, many of whom are elderly and require plenty of food and warmth during the cold months of the year. Insulation is a top priority in preparing for winter at the Sanctuary! We need to fundraise over $6,000 to cover the costs of insulating the coops and the rabbit barn this week.

In addition to insulation, we need to stock up enough on hay to last us through the end of December. The cows, the goats and sheep in particular require the most hay during the cold months. We need your help to ensure each barn has enough hay for the animals to enjoy this winter. The costs for two months of hay supply for all the animals at the Sanctuary is $11,650!

Winter preparation is not cheap, but these are necessary supplies for rescued residents like Woody, Oracle, Marge and Sylvia. Insulated barns and plenty of hay help us ensure that all of the animals are safe, comfortable and warm this winter.

Every gift made today will help us provide the care and shelter they need this season!
