Visiting the Sanctuary

  • Woodstock Farm Sanctuary is located at 2 Rescue Road, High Falls, NY 12440

  • Yes. Visitors to the Sanctuary must be part of a scheduled tour, and we ask that you purchase tickets in advance. We have limited tour capacity and often sell out in advance. We cannot guarantee walk-in availability.

  • Woodstock Farm Sanctuary is not open to the public outside of scheduled tours and events. Please see our Visit the Sanctuary page for current opportunities to visit the Sanctuary.

  • Visit our ticket tour page for current information. Ticket proceeds directly support Woodstock Sanctuary and the rescued animals who live here.

  • No, sorry.

For the safety of the rescued animal residents, dogs and other companion animals, including emotional support animals, are not allowed on sanctuary grounds. Service animals trained to perform a task to assist a person with a disability are the only exception to this rule.

Service animals must be kept on-leash and in the control of their handler at all times, and must stick to main roads. They are prohibited from entering animal enclosures or approaching our animal residents. We reserve the right to ask even service animals to be removed from the property if they are being aggressive or disruptive towards our rescued residents, other guests, or sanctuary staff.

  • Dogs and other companion animals, including emotional support animals, are not allowed on sanctuary grounds. Per NYS law you may not leave your dog in your vehicle, even if the engine is on and the A/C is running. NYS law also prohibits leaving an unattended car’s engine running

  • Our on-site inn The Gray Barn is open Thursday-Sunday from February-December for members of Woodstock Sanctuary. Please visit The Gray Barn’s website for more information regarding booking your stay.

Tour details

  • Tours are typically 90 minutes long.

  • During your visit you will meet and interact with a variety of farmed animal species including goats, chickens, pigs, and cows. We’ll tell you their stories, including where they came from, how they were rescued, and who they have become since. Woodstock Sanctuary has a strong educational mission and during the tours, we are honest and transparent about the realities of modern animal agriculture.

  • No. Many of our rescued animal residents are on special diets and cannot have outside food.

  • We do offer child-friendly tours, see our Visit the Sanctuary page for current opportunities. “Regular” tours are upfront about the realities of animal agriculture and our food system and may not be suitable for young children.

  • We welcome visitors of all abilities, but the regular tour route is not 100% accessible to those who use mobility aids. The Sanctuary roads are all dirt, uneven in places, and can be muddy depending on the weather.

We can arrange a more accessible route if we are aware of your needs in advance of your visit. Please email visit@woodstocksanctuary.org if you require accommodations for your tour.

Please note that we are not able to provide mobility aids to visitors.

  • Yes, you are welcome to bring food to eat before or after your tour. All food consumed on Sanctuary grounds must be vegan (plant-based) out of respect for our rescued animal residents.
