Annual Harvest Picnic

Join us on Saturday, October 3rd from 3:30 - 7pm for a festive fall party culminating in a delicious plant-based picnic meal served in one of our cow pastures. Expect music, games, great food and drink, and of course, sweet moments with the rescued animals we do it all for. The annual Harvest Picnic is our favorite event of the year and a great way to connect with other like-minded Sanctuary supporters!


We're excited to welcome back beloved local plant-based chef Gabrielle Grigoli of Gab’s Veg Table as our chef this year, with incredible desserts provided by Maresa Volante of vegan bakery Sweet Maresa’s. Your ticket includes the catered picnic meal, local wine, beer, and kombucha (and more!), and the cost of your ticket directly supports all the work we do here at the Sanctuary. Plus, you'll receive a 2027 Sanctuary calendar and our most beloved baseball cap, the Bunny Hat, as a parting gift!

Honey LaBronx , our emcee, is a New York City–based drag performer and social justice advocate, best known as the creator and host of the YouTube series The Vegan Drag Queen. Her one-woman drag show has toured 73 cities across five countries, raising funds for over 100 LGBTQ+ and animal-rights organizations while sparking dialogue on animal rights, racism, and queer liberation. 

A Milwaukee native, Honey (actor, singer, playwright, and theatrical photographer Ben Strothmann) was among the eight Queer Rising members arrested in 2011 for blocking traffic as an act of civil disobedience to demand marriage equality alongside her drag mother, Bob the Drag Queen. Today she uses the magic of drag to bring together audiences who might not otherwise meet—inviting each to see their own struggles reflected in others and leaving everyone with practical ways to advance collective liberation.
