Woodstock Farm Sanctuary is seeking a Horticultural and Landscape Intern!

Internship Overview
The Horticultural and Landscape Internship is an opportunity to work hands on at a nonprofit animal sanctuary doing everything from traditional landscaping, to gardening, to invasive plant removal.
Intern will gain experience and expertise depending on their own interests and skills, working with our Facilities Department in upkeep of 140 acres and helping with restoration and conservation best practices.
This internship is a good fit for someone who is interested in working in land management, conservation including rewilding, or landscaping or farm maintenance.
Intern Responsibilities
Specific tasks will vary based on time of year and organizational needs but may include:
Landscaping including mowing and tree and bush trimming
Fence maintenance and upkeep to protect the animal residents and deter wild predators
Identifying invasive plants and do targeted removal to promote native plants including management of our native plant gardens
Gardening in our vegetable garden—growing food for the rescued animals
Compost management
Experience + Qualification
Strong sense of affinity with the mission and goals of Woodstock Sanctuary
Ability to work outdoors in all weather and lift up to 60 lbs
Drivers license and clean drivers record
Experience with landscaping, gardening, or conservation horticulture
Comfort around animals including large farmed animals and wildlife including all insects
Skills
Friendly and outgoing with strong communication skills
Must be a good team player
Start Date
Flexible - minimum commitment of 3 months.
Schedule
Between 16 and 30 hours per week during traditional work hours with some flexibility. Weekly schedule depends on the time of year and may vary from week to week.
Weekly Cost of Living Reimbursement
24-30 hours: $75 per week
16-23 hours: $50 per week
*Reimbursements are given on a bi-weekly basis via checks
