Clyde
In 2015, Woodstock Sanctuary’s most bold, most personable rooster arrived. Clyde was found in rough shape wandering on the streets of New York City. He had likely escaped a live-kill market/slaughterhouse, like many farmed animals do.
When Clyde first came to our sanctuary, it only took him a few days until he felt like he ran the show. For a while he was the resident roo inside The Med Barn, but soon enough we realized Clyde had to become a “normal rooster.” He needed a flock, and soon enough he found the perfect crew including Stacy, a hen who saved her own life as well in NYC.
Many people know and love Clyde for his confidence, but also his lovingness. Clyde loves to be held or perch on a knee, and although he may live outside of the offices and Med Barn now, we still ping him for meetings.
