Dorothy Jo
In the fall of 2015, multiple sanctuaries rescued over 120 animals from a backyard butcher in Montgomery, NY. These poor animals were kept in horrendous conditions — crammed in barns with little food and living space. Woodstock Sanctuary took in five sheep, six pigs and nine goats. Dorothy Jo and her brother George were rescued with their mother Freyja, who sadly is no longer with us.
Dorothy Jo is a vigilant sheep. She is one of the more shy members of the sheep flock — while George, her brother is very brave and curious of human companions. We often see Dorothy Jo by the side of her brother, kind of looking at him as a guard for protection. The pair are inseparable, and we love that in sanctuary they will spend their entire lives together.
