STELLA

In the fall of 2015, multiple sanctuaries rescued over 120 animals from a backyard butcher in Montgomery, NY.  These poor animals were kept in horrendous conditions — crammed in barns with little food and living space. Woodstock Sanctuary took in five sheep, six pigs and nine goats, who were by far the sickest of all those we rescued. Most of the goats had pneumonia, lice, and worms and little did we know, a few were also pregnant.

Stella the goat came to us from this rescue and ended up being one of the pregnant ones. On February 19th, 2016 Stella gave birth to two healthy babies, Harper and Atticus.

Stella gets to spend every day knowing her two babies are safe in sanctuary. While her life started in a bad place, she will never have to know that kind of neglect and abuse again. We’re so happy to be able to provide lifelong care to small families like hers.
