Save the Birds: Our New Bird Initiative

Woodstock Farm Sanctuary is home to over 230 birds.

Yes, you read that right! Despite having over 350 rescued residents in our care, birds make up most of them due to neglect from people who aren’t properly educated on bird care, common abusive malpractices in animal agriculture that leave them in need of immediate help, or escaping slaughter. We’re so thankful our caregiving team works tirelessly around the clock to provide specialized care to help them recover and thrive here at Woodstock. However, we have so many projects we’d love to fulfill this year in an effort to provide the best care possible for our birds and to keep rescuing.

Many of these projects are urgent but on hold until we can make sure we have enough support. Want to help? Click the button at the bottom of this blog to learn more about our bird initiative and how you can help create a better sanctuary for the rescued birds in our care, like Augie and Elma! We are 100% donor funded, so that means that we solely rely on our community for everything that we do. Every gift truly helps our residents and mission.

P.S. Want to support our birds in a different way?

Visit us for our pop-up bird tour happening on Sunday, April 16th featuring delicious plant-based breakfast sandwiches from Secret Vegan Cafe! Click here to get your tickets and meet some our rescued birds!
