The Narnia Ducks
In August of 2020, Long Island-based rescue group LION reached out to us to see if we could provide a forever home to four ducks. One of the ducks was left to die outside on a canal, while the other three were dumped on the rescue’s property. Domestic ducks can’t fly, so abandoning them meant leaving them to die of starvation, predation, or exposure to the elements.
The four ducks made it to Woodstock Farm Sanctuary, and we named them after characters in The Chronicles of Narnia: Puddleglum, Tumnus, Caspian, and Jadis! These four are still thriving in Sanctuary alongside many other ducks and one particularly vocal goose. They will never live in fear or find themselves lost again.
