Oracle

In August 2023, we were informed of a lost sheep in Beacon, New York through a rescue partner. As we began to contact animal organizations, local farms, and police, we learned that there had been reports of a lone sheep in the town for several months and that no one had claimed her. Through local community reports, we were able to determine she was spending most of her time in a cemetery, where she was at risk due to traffic and predators. Over the course of a month, local volunteers and staff members worked tirelessly to gain Oracle’s trust. Finally, thanks to these amazing efforts, Oracle was contained in our trailer and transported to the Sanctuary.

Oracle remains one of our most shy residents and is wary of humans, but she is very comfortable and loving with her fellow sheep. She can be found happily grazing alongside her friends in their pasture and cozying up to her pal Nora in the barn.
