Welcoming Thelma and Louise
We have two new arrivals to the Sanctuary! Keep reading to meet Thelma and Louise.
At the very end of February, we were able to rescue two sheep who have been outside all winter on their own. It’s been such a brutal winter here and it’s so hard to think of them outside in all the snow storms —they didn’t have a place to call home during any of that. They’re both female and both SO brave.
Thelma and Louise arriving at Woodstock Farm Sanctuary
We decided to name this duo Thelma and Louise, and they’re in quarantine right now. These two got their checkup and bloodwork done, but unfortunately the initial results we received gave us more questions than answers about their health — and that likely means additional testing. We did identify some deficiencies and parasite issues however, so we began treating that. We have also noticed that Louise seems to have an issue with her udder—we may need imaging to determine exactly what’s going on there.

We don’t have a complete picture of all the care they will need yet, but that will come together in time. It’s been so much work this winter keeping everyone safe and okay here, and the snow is only just starting to thaw, but when we heard this story we couldn’t say no to two girls who are such determined survivors. Your support helps us stock up on the additional supplies we’ll need to house two more rescued sheep. Help us officially welcome Thelma and Louise to the Sanctuary by donating towards their care.
