Christine
In the late summer of 2023, we learned about a sweet senior Boer goat who had been living alone for some time. Her longtime companion had passed away and she had been unable to socialize with any fellow goats. She was confined to a shed and was in danger of being attacked by the dogs that roamed the property.
When Chris arrived at the Sanctuary, she received a much-needed hoof trim, and our care team soon learned she was positive for lungworm, as well as lice. She was quickly treated for both and began to warm up to the staff, who brought her pine and willow branches to munch on each day.
Christine seemed so happy to join our herd of senior goats, after all that time alone. She now has so much space to roam, alongside new friends Tara, Remy, and Fern. She is shy and gentle, but so loving once she gets to know you. She is named after one of our amazing and dedicated volunteers.
