Glinda and Elphaba

Glinda and Elphaba have been through so much. In 2024, they were abandoned in the woods with no food or shelter. As domesticated rabbits, they were in great danger from predators, starvation, and harsh weather. Fortunately, they were brought to safety by our friends at Reheartrescue (formerly known as Reenies Rabbit Rescue). They were well cared for, but the rescue knew this would only be a temporary home.

When we reached out to them about bonding a rescued bunny (or two!) with long-time Sanctuary resident Sherman, they thought of Glinda and Elphaba right away. Sweet Sherman had recently lost his close friend Leah. The friendship they shared was so special. We knew that Sherman could not remain alone, but it can be difficult for bunnies to bond.

Thanks to Reheartrescue staff and our caring community, Glinda and Elphaba made their way to Woodstock Sanctuary. Sherman was gradually introduced to this shy duo, and we are happy to share that the three are now peacefully living together. Glinda and Elphaba are still a bit shy around humans, but their personalities have begun to shine! They love snuggling Sherman and one another inside the Bunny Barn, exploring their outside area, and, of course, chewing!
