Cher

In January of 2021, Woodstock Farm Sanctuary responded to a severe neglect case at a farm near Albany. When we arrived, we found dozens of animals locked in small, freezing sheds with no access to water. Cher was rescued with more than 50 others, including two of her turkey friends, Dionne and Tai.

Cher, who is bold, intelligent, and independent, survived neglect and harm as a young turkey and will now only know a life of kindness, compassion, and friendships. Cher loves to approach caregivers and spends her days alongside her best friends, Tai and Dionne. In 2026, this trio was joined by a brave, talkative turkey named Zillah. So far, the girls have really made him feel welcome in their little flock.
