Moby

In the fall of 2015, multiple sanctuaries rescued over 120 animals from a backyard butcher in Montgomery, New York. These poor animals were kept in horrendous conditions — crammed in barns with little to no food. Woodstock Sanctuary took in five sheep, six pigs, and nine goats. Most of the goats had pneumonia, lice, and worms and little did we know, a few were also pregnant.

Moby and his sister Jackie were born at Woodstock Sanctuary after their mother Ruby came to us from this rescue pregnant.

Sadly, Jackie passed away at the age of eight, but Moby can be found spending his days alongside his friends and his mother Ruby. Moby is now the tallest goat at the sanctuary and is easily recognized by his magnificent horns and interesting band of long hair. This inquisitive guy loves to reach over the fence for a banana or a friendly head scratch. Moby will never know a life without his mother, and will never know a life of pain, neglect, or suffering. We’re so happy this family gets to be together every day.
