The Zombie Goats

In November of 2022, we had the opportunity to help some really special goats. Our friends and fellow animal activists Rob and Sheri Zombie rescued four goats from cases of cruelty and neglect, providing them a safe, loving home for years. As the goats grew older and began to require more specialized care, we worked with Rob and Sheri to welcome them here to Woodstock Sanctuary. The four goats, Claire, Ginger, Daisy, and Ralphie, all adjusted to their new life in Sanctuary, alongside many new friends. They all love human affection and getting lots of pets.

In 2023, Ginger passed away peacefully due to a kidney disorder. The remaining three Zombie Goats were introduced to Bruce, a friendly and talkative Boer goat. They were very welcoming of this silly guy and Bruce is particularly fond of Daisy. We’re so thankful they have a safe space to live out their lives and play with one another. All three are often found enjoying the sunlight alongside the wall of their huge barn and Claire may be the smallest goat we’ve ever met!
