Stella
In the fall of 2015, multiple sanctuaries rescued over 120 animals from a backyard butcher in Montgomery, New York. These poor animals were kept in horrendous conditions — crammed in barns with little to no food. Woodstock Sanctuary took in five sheep, six pigs, and nine goats. Most of the goats had pneumonia, lice, and worms and little did we know, a few were also pregnant.
Stella the goat came to us from this rescue and in February 2016, she gave birth to two healthy babies, Harper and Atticus.
Stella gets to spend every day knowing her two babies are safe in sanctuary. She is particularly close with her sister, Ruby. While her life started in a bad place, she will never have to know that kind of neglect and abuse again. We’re so happy to be able to provide lifelong care to small families like hers.
