In the fall of 2015, multiple sanctuaries rescued over 120 animals from a backyard butcher in Montgomery, New York. These poor animals were kept in horrendous conditions — crammed in barns with little to no food. Woodstock Sanctuary took in five sheep, six pigs, and nine goats. Most of the goats had pneumonia, lice, and worms and little did we know, a few were also pregnant.
Three months after the rescue, Sassy the goat welcoming little Lucie and Tuesday into the world. Ten baby goats were born to mothers from this backyard butcher case and thus, The Tiniest Herd was formed! It was such a sweet time at the Sanctuary with so many baby goats around.
Tuesday still gets to spend every day with his sister and mother. While Lucie is more of the social goat, saying hello to those who walk by, Tuesday is more reserved. He likes to play with his goat friends and roam through the rolling big pastures that surround his barn.
